Brandon and Brittany started Pure Disposal LLC in 2015, and bicycle disposal in Fort Myers is a small but steady service. Kids outgrow their bikes fast. Adults buy new bikes and the old ones sit in the garage for a decade. Rusted beach cruisers pile up after storm damage. When it’s finally time, we haul.
Is your old bike worth passing on?
Before you book, check whether someone else could use it. If the tires hold air, the chain moves, the brakes work, and the frame isn’t cracked or rusted through, a kid’s bike or a decent adult bike can often go to a neighbor, a community group, or a local charity. A bike that’s seized up or rusted through is better off recycled.
Why bikes rust so fast in Florida
Humidity, salt air, and storm exposure rust bikes faster here than in drier places. A bike left outside or in a hot garage can have a seized chain and rusted frame within a couple of years. If you want to keep one, wipe it down after beach rides, keep the chain lubricated, and store it indoors. If it’s already past saving, we’ll take it.

How much does bicycle disposal in Fort Myers cost?
A single electronic item, including a large TV or CRT tube TV, is $125. Beyond that we price by trailer load: $280 for a ¼ load (such as a home office refresh), $450 for a ½ load, $635 for a ¾ load, and $750 for a full trailer. We confirm the price before we load.
What happens to my old bike after you take it?
We look over each bike. Where possible, bikes in decent shape are sent to charities that accept them. Rusted, broken, or beyond-repair bikes go to metal recycling.
Do you take e-bikes with the battery still attached?
Yes. E-bike batteries need special recycling and can’t go in the regular trash, so tell us it’s an e-bike when you request your quote and we’ll confirm the details. E-bikes are $150, which covers the extra handling.
Can you take a Peloton or home exercise bike?
Yes. CRT TVs need special handling because the glass contains lead, and they’re priced as a single item at $125.
Do you pick up rusted or post-storm damaged bikes?
Yes. Business tech refreshes are a common commercial service for us. We price them by trailer load, from $450 for a ½ load up to $750 for a full trailer, and we confirm the price before we load.
Can you clear a whole garage of bikes?
Yes — garage bike cleanups (5–10 bikes plus accessories) run $200. Bundled with a full garage cleanout if you want to clear more.
Where can I dispose of an old bike near me?
Drop-off options vary, and bike shops or charities may not take every bike. We pick it up from your garage or shed and take care of the rest. We’re based in Fort Myers and serve Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Estero, Naples, Bonita Springs, Marco Island, Punta Gorda, North Port, and the islands.
