Fort Myers AC disposal: every unit type, hauled away
Brandon and Brittany started Pure Disposal LLC in 2015, and AC disposal in Fort Myers is a steady service every summer. Florida heat runs AC units hard — they die, they leak, they get replaced. When the new unit gets installed, the HVAC company usually leaves you to figure out what to do with the old one. That’s where we come in.
We haul every AC type — the window units in older Cape Coral homes, the portable units renters bought, the mini-splits from Naples condo conversions, and the outdoor central-AC condensers that get replaced when the system dies. Every unit contains refrigerant that must be recovered by EPA Section 608 rules before scrapping. We route to certified recyclers — not general dumps.
Why AC units wear out faster in Florida
AC units here run almost nonstop for much of the year, in heat and humidity that put a lot of strain on compressors and fans. Clogged condensate drains are common, and near the coast or on the islands, salt air can corrode outdoor units. That’s why many Southwest Florida units need replacing sooner than they would in a cooler, drier climate.
Getting ready for pickup
For a window or portable unit, unplug it and drain any water from the tray or reservoir. Clear a path to the door and let us know about stairs. Leave the removal from the window to us, since these units are heavy and awkward and leaning out of a window to lift one is how people get hurt.
Common AC pickup situations
- HVAC replacement (old system out)
- Window unit died / leaking
- Rental turnover AC clear
- Post-storm damaged units
- Snowbird home AC upgrade
- Condo conversion from window to central
What we haul
The AC units we haul from Fort Myers properties
Every type of unit, from a single window AC to a whole system’s outdoor condenser.
Window AC units
Window units of any size and age, carried out from any floor.
Mini-split systems
The indoor unit, the outdoor unit, or both. If your HVAC company has already disconnected the system, it makes the job easier.
Portable AC units
Floor-standing units, single-hose or dual-hose. Drain the water reservoir before we arrive.
Through-wall AC units
Wall-mounted units removed from the opening.
Central AC condensers
Outdoor slab-mounted units. Your HVAC company should cap the refrigerant lines first, which usually happens with a new system install. We don’t disconnect line sets.

We reached out to Brandon to clear out our garage and storage room. He responded very fast, gave us a quote, and set a date. Pick up was very professional and fast. They didn’t leave a single piece of trash behind even brought their own dust pans and brooms to sweep up. Saved his number and will definitely reach out for future needs.

I just had an incredible experience this evening with Brandon and his disposal company. I needed an emergency recliner removal from one of my senior client’s apartments. He not only took care of it with very little notice at a very fair price, he was incredibly kind and respectful throughout the process and made her feel comfortable. I will use his services again in a heartbeat!

Upfront pricing
AC disposal pricing in Fort Myers
A window or portable AC is a flat $125. Wall units, mini-splits, and condensers cost more because of the extra work. For multiple units, we price by how much space they take up on our trailer. We confirm the price before we load.
$125
Single item
One window or portable AC, or a dehumidifier.
$280
1/4 Trailer Load
A through-wall unit, a mini-split system, a central AC condenser (refrigerant lines already capped), or three or four window or portable units.
$450
1/2 Trailer Load
A rental turnover with several units, or two systems.
$635
3/4 Trailer Load
Multiple systems or a larger rental property.
$750
Full Trailer Load
AC units plus other equipment from a whole property.
Note under the table: Through-wall units, mini-splits, and central condensers are priced at the ¼ load because they take more work and space. Larger jobs may take more than one load.
What can change the price
The number and size of the units, access such as stairs or a roof approach, and whether the system has been disconnected.

FAQ
AC disposal questions, answered
Quick answers about unit types, HVAC coordination, and pricing. If yours isn’t here, call or text us.
How much does AC disposal in Fort Myers cost?
A single window or portable AC unit is $125. Beyond that we price by trailer load: $280 for a ¼ load (such as a through-wall unit, a mini-split, or a central AC condenser with the refrigerant lines already capped), $450 for a ½ load, $635 for a ¾ load, and $750 for a full trailer. We confirm the price before we load.
Do I need my HVAC company to disconnect the AC first?
For window and portable units: no — we just unplug and haul. For central AC condensers, yes — your HVAC company should cap the refrigerant lines first (they usually do this as part of the new system install). For mini-splits, ideally your HVAC company disconnects, but we can handle unhooked units.
What happens to the refrigerant?
Refrigerant has to be recovered before a unit is scrapped. We take AC units to a facility that handles that, and the metal is recycled. If your HVAC company has already recovered the refrigerant, the unit still goes to metal recycling.
Can you take an AC unit from a second-story window?
Yes. We carry units down from any floor. Mention a very large unit or difficult access, such as a roof approach, in your quote request, since that can change the price.
Do you take old dehumidifiers?
Yes — refrigerant-based dehumidifiers are the same $125 flat and go to the same recycler.
Can you pick up multiple AC units from a rental property?
Yes. For multiple units we price by trailer load: $280 for a ¼ load (about three or four window units), $450 for a ½ load, $635 for a ¾ load, and $750 for a full trailer. We can also pull all the AC units on the same visit as a general cleanout.
Where can I recycle an old air conditioner near me?
Drop-off rules vary by facility, and AC units are heavy and awkward to move, especially from an upstairs window. We pick up from your home and take care of the recycling. We’re based in Fort Myers and serve Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Estero, Naples, Bonita Springs, Marco Island, Punta Gorda, North Port, and the islands.
